Sledding Day!

With Uncle James in town and a fresh 4" of snow on the ground the girls and dogs got a perfect day to burn off some energy on the hills. Warm chocolate milk followed by sitting by the fireplace was a good way to wind down.

Another Snowfilled Winter

Since it's looking like another snowy winter this year, the girls wanted to take advantage of it. So far they've had snowball fights, gone tubing and built a snow fort. We only have pictures of the snowball fun, so here are a few of them from the first snowfall we got. I'm sure we'll have some tubing and snow fort pictures up soon.

Halloween

The girls really enjoyed trick or treating all three times this year. Once with Grandma Gregory at the Zoo, a second time over at Great-Grandma Weiland's house and a third time around the neighborhood. The "made by Melissa" costumes looked great and survived quite a few miles being put on them. Elsa and Nora are slowly getting through the candy loot, with just a little help from Melissa and Jason.

San Francisco Trip!

The girls took their first flight last week, flying out to San Francisco to see Uncle Matt and Uncle James & Bonnie. They had a good time and showed quite a bit of patience for all the traveling we had to do.

According to Elsa and Nora their favorite part of the trip was buying their "Baby Cheetah" plush toys from the San Francisco Zoo. They seemed to enjoy the time spent with the uncles as well though.

During the week-long trip they saw lots of parks, climbed lots of hills, got splashed by the Ocean, smelled the Sea Lions, rode a Cable Car, and too many other things to keep listing. We have tons of photos so I'll have most of them up in the photo gallery.

Family Farm

This is a bit belated, but the girls went to the Family Farm near Cedarburg a couple of weeks ago. They enjoyed the animals, the hay ride, picking pumpkins and jumping around the hay bales.

Bay Beach

After paying $6 for the girls to go on one ride at the State Fair we decided it was time for another Bay Beach trip. $12.50 got the girls about 4 hours of rides. Elsa and Nora's favorite was the helicopter ride, Melissa and I really liked the trashy people who stunk. As always there's more pictures in the slideshow.

Such a Busy Summer

Well there is almost too much to post since last time, so here are the quick stories.

The Girls had a great time with Uncle James and Travis in town for the week. Uncle James likes to spin them around until they are just about sick, and they love it. Travis was a pretty good "big brother" to them and they loved following him around up north. The trail that they made through the woods was pretty much the best ever.

Elsa and Nora really had a good time at Germanfest this past weekend. They couldn't get enough of the Sky Glider and really enjoyed the fireworks on opening night.

Just about all of the pictures in the slide show have been changed, so check them out if you have some time.

Up North

The girls and dogs got quite a workout for the past week up north. Elsa and Nora checked out bugs, drove the boat, went fishing, picked strawberries, played on the swingset, roasted marshmallows and a few other things during their week long stay. Nora had an incident with a June bug which latched onto her foot as she stepped on it. It took a while to calm down from that. They both really liked the fishing off the pier with Grandma and Grandpa though. Elsa almost fish slapped Nora and Melissa trying to show off her fish to the camera.

The dogs pretty much just ran after tennis balls and swam, and now that they are home they just sleep. Molly figured out how to swim and also that she hates horseflies, so much so that she would just spin in circles trying to bite them. She is pretty good at it too, she caught and ate quite a few.

As usual there are more pictures in the slide show from the week.

Haircuts

I am aware that it happens to just about every kid and now it seems to have happened to our kids...giving each other haircuts. Yes, that cheap and often underutilized child labor segment was present yesterday. Their equipment wasn't the best (safety scissors), their aim not so good (about 4 separate spot on Nora) but they do work for free. I'd post some pictures but today their hair is so frizzy it doesn't seem to show up as well. I guess that means it wasn't too bad, but to go from painting a window at my workbench, to finding clumps of hair in their play room was not the surprise I had wanted.

So if you are ever in the need for a cheap haircut, James immediately comes to mind, stop on in and try them out.

Brewers Game

The girls were very excited to go to the Brewers' Game on Sunday. We tailgated, hit the playground, and also managed to get a nap in. After having a picnic in the truck (tailgating) we made a stop at the park outside. Then the first couple innings they seemed a bit overwhelmed by it all, but then after a walk around Miller Park they were ready to crash from the 7th inning until the usher told us it was time to leave. Here's just a few of the pictures....

Hopscotch!

The girls have been enjoying all the nice weather lately. After taking their bikes around the block Nora wanted to show off her hopscotch skills, and Elsa was more than happy to bounce around with her. I really enjoy the way they take off in completely random directions when they are done.

China Town Jammies

Just thought we'd throw another quick one up here. The girls were very happy to get some pajamas from Grandma and Papa Fleming from their San Francisco trip. So here they are...

Soaking up some sun

Just a quick picture of Nora acting very cat-like, soaking up some rays by the front door.

Easter Sunday

The girls had a busy day on Sunday. They got up early in the morning and went to church, and shortly after they got back they had Easter eggs to hunt for. Once the Easter egg hunt was done there was a quick nap, the loot was divided up and then quickly gone through. The girls really had fun painting the eggs afterwards. There are a lot more pictures in the gallery, be sure to check them out.

The First Nice Day...

Well it finally got nice enough to dust off those bikes and get them outside. The girls both made it all the way around the block by themselves which was enough for Nora to declare "my legs hurt Mama." It was a nice break from the small remodeling project we've had going for about a month now. The girls have been telling us that summer is their favorite and they can't wait for it to be summer...as Nora likes to say now "That's what I'm talking about!"

The Big 3rd Birthday

The Big Birthday was yesterday and it appeared to be a big hit. Nora needed a little nap right in the middle of it, but that meant she got to play with all the new toys until about 10pm. That also happened to be about the same time that Elsa (who didn't need a nap all day) told us it was time for her to go to bed. Now we just need to find room for all the toys...

Snow Day!

With all the snow that we recently got we went outside after the 15 hours of snow was done falling. A couple of snow tunnels were dug and Elsa, Nora, Elwood and Molly all had a good time. Shoveling six times that day seems worth it...
