Up North

The girls and dogs got quite a workout for the past week up north. Elsa and Nora checked out bugs, drove the boat, went fishing, picked strawberries, played on the swingset, roasted marshmallows and a few other things during their week long stay. Nora had an incident with a June bug which latched onto her foot as she stepped on it. It took a while to calm down from that. They both really liked the fishing off the pier with Grandma and Grandpa though. Elsa almost fish slapped Nora and Melissa trying to show off her fish to the camera.

The dogs pretty much just ran after tennis balls and swam, and now that they are home they just sleep. Molly figured out how to swim and also that she hates horseflies, so much so that she would just spin in circles trying to bite them. She is pretty good at it too, she caught and ate quite a few.

As usual there are more pictures in the slide show from the week.

Haircuts

I am aware that it happens to just about every kid and now it seems to have happened to our kids...giving each other haircuts. Yes, that cheap and often underutilized child labor segment was present yesterday. Their equipment wasn't the best (safety scissors), their aim not so good (about 4 separate spot on Nora) but they do work for free. I'd post some pictures but today their hair is so frizzy it doesn't seem to show up as well. I guess that means it wasn't too bad, but to go from painting a window at my workbench, to finding clumps of hair in their play room was not the surprise I had wanted.

So if you are ever in the need for a cheap haircut, James immediately comes to mind, stop on in and try them out.

Brewers Game

The girls were very excited to go to the Brewers' Game on Sunday. We tailgated, hit the playground, and also managed to get a nap in. After having a picnic in the truck (tailgating) we made a stop at the park outside. Then the first couple innings they seemed a bit overwhelmed by it all, but then after a walk around Miller Park they were ready to crash from the 7th inning until the usher told us it was time to leave. Here's just a few of the pictures....
